Before installing a local model, check the model license, memory requirement and whether the application makes network requests. Running inference locally does not automatically make every feature private.

Compare task quality on a small sample, including failure cases, and account for hardware and energy costs. These are selection criteria, not a claim that we benchmarked every tool.
